Clothespin Reindeer

Materials:
  • Per reindeer you will need:
  • 3 old-fashioned clothespins
  • 1 pair googlie eyes
  • tan felt-cut in ear shapes
  • brown felt-cut in antler shapes
  • 1 tiny red pom-pom, for nose
  • 1 white (slightly larger than red one) pom-pom for tail
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions:

  1. As these clothespins come in many different sizes, you can make either tiny reindeer to put on a small tree or package, or larger ones -- guaging your eyes, size of ears and antlers, and pom-poms to fit your clothespins.
  2. Take two clothespins and glue flat sides together ( these are legs).
  3. Take third pin and turn upside down, and glue flat sides together with legs(These points make tall ends of antlers). Cut small tan felt, into ear shapes and glue on front of face, position brown felt cut into knobby antler shapes above the ears. Glue on a pair of googlie eyes, pom-pom nose, and finally the tail.
  4. Drying tip--position pins over the edge of a shoe box or other box.
  5. You can add a ribbon or wire to hand on the tree.
  6. Children 8 to 10 love watching the reindeer take shape, hot glue is not suitable for younger children and white glue can be substituted, but drying time is extended.
