Dad's Snack Pack

This is a great project for young children (with an adult's supervision). Use the Snack Pack to package Dad's favorite snacks.

Materials:

  • Empty coffee can with plastic lid (any size)
  • construction paper
  • white glue
  • miscellaneous craft supplies: see below
  • snacks

Instructions:
If the inside rim of the coffee can has sharp edges, an adult should crimp the edges over using some pliers.
Make sure the coffee can is clean and dry.
Cut a piece of construction paper to fit around the outside of the can.
Have the child decorate one side of the construction paper. Here are some ideas:

  1. Glue on pictures of family members
  2. Write messages to Dad
  3. Draw pictures of the things you like to do with Dad
  4. Glue on pictures cut from magazines
  5. Glue on craft supplies that you may have around the house: pictures cut from old greeting cards, sequins, feathers, pom-poms, buttons, etc.
Glue the paper around the outside of the can. Let the glue dry.
Fill the container with Dad's favorite snacks: pretzels, popcorn, crackers, candy, etc.
