This topiary would make a great centerpiece or gift!
You will need:
3-4" f pot
2-3" diameter styrofoam ball
3-4" diameter styrofoam ball
One long wooden fondue/shishkebob skewer
Pink spray paint
Pink and white acrylic paint
Floral pins
Floral wire
Floral tape
Pink twisted paper
Narrow pink, white and/or red ribbon
2" wide ribbon or strips of matching material
Dried or silk fs
Paint the bottom of the f pot white. Allow to dry, then paint hearts
around the base.
Paint the rim of the pot pink, when dry, paint light pink or white
hearts in a row around the rim, separated by a dot of paint.
Spray paint the smaller styrofoam ball pink. Set aside to dry. Paint
the fondue skewer white and set aside to dry.
Make your twisted paper heart - take a strip of twisted paper and
bend it in the middle. Unwrap the two sides, leaving 2" of the ends
twisted. When the pink ball is dry, attach at the bend using a floral
pin. Make a small bow using your narrow wire and glue to the top to
cover the floral pin. Bring the twisted ends down around the ball and
wrap with wire. Leave 2" of wire at the bottom. Wrap the twisted ends
and about 1/2" of the wire with floral tape.
Poke one end of the fondue skewer through the twisted paper heart,
through the pink ball, and out the other side of the paper heart. From
your wide ribbon, cut two identical arrow shaped pieces. Glue back to
back on the pointy end of the skewer. Cut two identical feather shaped
pieces. Glue back to back on the other end of the skewer.
Insert the larger styrofoam ball into the f pot. Poke the wire from
the bottom of your twisted paper heart into the top/center of the large
ball. Secure with white glue if necessary.
Make a large bow with the wide ribbon and use a piece of wire to secure
it to the front of the bottom ball. Decorate the remaining white space
with bows from the narrow ribbon, dried fs, bits of ribbon, etc.
