You will need:
- Plaster of Paris
- Coffee can lid, ice cream container lid, etc. (something to use for
a round mold)
Mix the plaster according to the instructions on the package and pour it
into the mold. When it had a few minutes to "set" we had the kids put their
hand in to make the print. It came out like a plaque.

If you're unable to Acquire plaster of paris and would like an easy replacement,
here's a good idea...
I have used white playdough... an entire container is what I used. I
shaped it into about a 5" diameter and flattened to a thickness of
about 1/2"-1"(inch). Then I had my little boy press his hand down, helping
him to make a visible print, pushing his little fingers down gently. Then
before setting aside, I used a straw to make little indentions of tiny
circles all the way around. I set aside (up away from my son's sight!)
and let air dry about 5days, maybe less. When dry I filled in any cracks
with white toothpaste...let dry for 24 hrs, then wrote his name and date
on back. Finally, painted. It's now a beautiful decoration on my dresser
next to his baby picture.
