Combine caulif or broccoli, potatoes, chicken broth and bay leaf. Cover
and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour. Remove bay leaf.
Fry onion in butter until soft. Add flour and salt and pepper. Add onion
mixture to soup. Remove from heat and blend well with portable hand blender
and then stir in milk. Heat and serve.
Before serving, nutmeg may be added to caulif soup, and lemon juice
and garlic powder may be added to broccoli soup for extra flavour.
